There always comes a day when the wind
is from the south and the air tastes of earth and green,
telling us spring is here. Spring is a short and powerful
season. In the garden it takes us from the carpeting woodland
flowers, through swaths of Tulips to the stirring of the
summer border. Notice the beauty of plants emerging; red
stems of Peonies, Hostas unfurling and the tight crosiers
of fiddleheads expanding to airy ferns.
